Ms. Ayla Bakkalli is a graduate of New York University and under its consortium program attended Princeton University and Columbia University. Ms. Bakkalli holds a Masters Degree in Turkic History with a focus on the status of evolving democracies in the aftermath of the fall of Soviet communism in 1991.

Ms. Bakkalli is an American Crimean Turk whose parents survived the en mass deportation of the Crimean Tatars on May 18, 1944 inflicted by the Soviet communism regime. Ms. Bakkalli will begin her bi-weekly Democracy Hour program every Saturday at 3:00 PM. An hour of broadcast audio/visual internet news, analysis and commentary in English language for an international, American and American Turkish/Turkic audience on the state of democratic progress in Crimea, Ukraine and throughout * TURAN.
